What are the playing options and costs for Youth?
When cricket players start high school there is often some confusion around what opportunities are available at the club, avoiding conflict with school teams. Below are the opportunities & pricing for boys for the 24/25 season.
U13’s
- Half season Saturday T20 morning or LO30 afternoon until Christmas $100
- Summer Series Sunday LO40 $100 (selections from trials)
- Thursday T20 5pm midweek hub after Christmas $90
U14’s / U15’s / U16’s / U17’s
- Thursday T20 5pm midweek hub pre & post Christmas $180
- Summer Series Sunday LO40 $100 (selections from trials)
- December T20 tournament – more info to come
- Summer Series January T20 Tournament $100 (selections from trials)
- Youth Development Path (high school students playing some Senior cricket) $100 – available when registering for Senior cricket

What is the cut off age date?
Your age at the 1st of April 2024 is your cricket age for the 24/25 session.
Example: if you were 12 you will play in under 13’s or if you were 9 you play in under 10’s
When does the season start?
Fantastic Fridays incl Midgets & U8/U9’s starts Friday 1st November.
All other juniors the first game of the season is Saturday 2nd November.
When are trials held and what are the for?
Trials are held for the U12 Limited Over 30 afternoon teams, U13 Limited Over 30 afternoon teams and U13 summer series teams. These will be held on Sunday the 13th of October 2024 at Ken Maunder Park.

When does training start?
Trainings start the first week after the October holidays.
Where are trainings held?
Unless otherwise stated – Ken Maunder Park (KMP), usually in the indoor centre, but as the weather improves on the fields outside. This year as our Junior Club grows more practises will take place at the Eastdale grounds (Five mins from KMP).
What days are trainings held?
- Under 8’s mixed – Monday 4-5pm
- Under 9’s mixed – Monday 5-6pm
- Under 13’s boys – Monday 6-8pm
- Midweek Hubs boys U15 / U17 – Monday 7:30-9pm (If wet 8-9:30pm)
- U11/U13 girls – Tuesday – 4-6pm
- Under 11 boys – Wednesday 4-5.30pm
- Under 12 boys – Wednesday 5.30-7pm
- Under 10 boys – Thursday 4-6pm
- Under 16 girls – Friday 5.30-7pm
Coaches please note there is some flexibility with training times. Please contact Kate if yours needs to be adjusted.
How are teams selected?
Our aim is to keep teams and friends together to enjoy the fun aspect of the game. Let us know if you have any specific requests and we will endeavour to meet them.
We are following the ACA guidelines, which means players stay in their age groups, no matter their skill levels.
Can Under 5’s play?
Yes, if they turn 5 years of age during the season.
Where do we get the playing polo shirt from?
Cricket Express, please see below for more detail – you can pre-order these when registering. Or a limited stock is available through the Club General Manager.
Is all equipment supplied?
Juniors – yes. Though players must provide their own playing trousers, white & blue trousers are available from Cricket Express.
The club recommends that children play in navy blue trousers – to avoid grass stains!
As the players get older generally they purchase their own playing gear.
Can we play in more than 1 competition?
Yes.
Can we pay in instalments?
NZC has implemented a new registration system by PlayHQ. Payment by Credit or Debit card is mandatory at time of registration. If you are under financial constraints and a payment plan is necessary, please contact the Club Manager
Playing Shirts
Welcome to Suburbs New Lynn Cricket Club. We are delighted that you are joining the Junior Club! If you have registered prior to 5pm on Sunday 29th September as part of your membership you receive a free cap. This will be provided to you by your team coach prior to your first game. Alternatively, Cricket Express have caps, wide brim hats and bucket hats available for purchase.
This year we have a ‘new and improved’ coloured playing shirt for all junior cricket.
The recommended retail price of the shirts is $49.90-54.90
Cricket Express is offering a loyalty programme. Sign up as a SNLCC member and earn points as you spend, you will then receive a voucher of $25 (20% discount) when you reach 250 points. Please remember, when making any purchase at Cricket Express to say you are from SNLCC to receive a 10% discount throughout the year, and for the club to get a rebate.
